BGDC Distribution is Hiring a Financial Analyst Near Forest, GA

Summary:

Under general supervision, the Financial Analyst will lead the compilation and analysis of weekly expenses for reporting within the company and to the client. Leads, develops, and prepares the forecasts and annual budgets by communicating with the operations leaders. Prepares variance analyses and various financial reports. Performs deep dive analysis on results to identify and resolve reporting errors. Compute, report, and track various KPIs. Work with the operations leaders to identify and pursue cost savings opportunities.

Essential Functions:

  • Prepare annual budgets focusing on cost savings, and quality and service improvements. Lead discussions with internal leaders and the client with robust YoY explanations
  • Update weekly expenses and prepare forecast updates by collaborating with the operations leaders to understand cost drivers, cost variances, and areas of risk and opportunity.
  • Prepare reports and analysis for internal and external customers, as required
  • Prepare journal entries (e.g. intercompany allocations, payroll loads)
  • Lead the financial analysis for Continuous Improvement projects
  • Lead the discussion and review of results within internal leaders and the client. Effectively communicate key concerns and issues
  • Develop and enhance reporting capabilities focusing on improved accuracy, improved analysis, and workload reduction
  • Lead the reconciliation of results between internal reporting and the client’s books. Assist the client with accruals and journal entries to ensure reporting accuracy. Report and update metrics, forecasts, and results within the clients systems, as required
  • Assist and/or lead audits in various areas (e.g. payroll, 401K)
  • Meet all deadlines
  • Complete all work free of material errors and very few minor errors
  • Submit completed staff work
  • Perform routine and complex tasks with little oversight
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Good customer service skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with variety of individuals, up to and including the CEO and owners
  • Detail oriented, but also able to communicate at a high level to management
  • Must be able to relate to other people beyond giving and receiving instructions: they must get along with co-workers without exhibiting behavioral extremes; perform work activities requiring reasoning, negotiating, instructing, persuading, or speaking with others; and respond appropriately to criticism from a supervisor.

  • Paycor (Company payroll and HR)
  • Quickbooks (Company accounting system)
  • Oracle and Dodeca (Client accounting system)
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Teams, Webex, and other remote collaboration tools
  • Various internal and external systems (e.g. client WMS, Smartview)

Educational Requirements:

  • 4-year college degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5 years related work experience.

Travel:

Occasional travel is required; estimate 10%.

Work Location:

The preferred location on site at the Forest Park, GA location. Remote and flexible working options will be considered.
